We drove out of our Grosses Walsertal valley today to discover some new valleys and high mountain passes - the most famous one being the world reknown 'Arlberg' massif.
We had a local guide, Silvia, lead the way today up and across picture-perfect alpine meadows and forest to an old alp hut where an local lady served us up the typical alpine lunch - cheese, smoked sausage with some cider and schnapps to wash it down!
Some of the group opted to stay in the village of Lech (which is famous for the jet setting winter crowds it attracts) to do their own thing at leisure. Discovering their own walks along the river, having coffee and cake at any one of the 5 star hotels and, watching the vintage car rally
Another majestic drive along spectacular mountain roads led us home to our hotel for a much looked forward to sauna and steam bath before dinner.

An early night tonight in order to prepare for our very early morning Nordic Walk tomorrow.
